On Thursday, January 8,  at the Ilsley Public Library in Middlebury, Otter Creek Audubon held our first Cabin Fever Lecture series presentation of the winter. Sarah Zahendra, Field Biologist from the Vermont Center for Ecostudies gave a presentation entitled, the Buzz on Bumblebees. She took us through the life-cycle of bumblebees, told us about the species of bumblebees in Vermont, talked about the Vermont Bumblebee Survey, and explained the problems facing these important native pollinators. If you missed this presentation you can view it online thanks to the production facilities of Middlebury Community Television.

Our next Cabin Fever Lecture, A Listers’ trip to Kazakhstan, presented by Hank Kaestner takes place February 12th at 7:00 PM at the Ilsley Library. In the meantime, if you would like to see more, many of our past presentations can be found at this link.
