Addison County hosts much of the north unit of the Green Mountain National Forest, a veritable bird factory. Hiking trails and forest roads provide opportunities for a wealth of species particularly in spring and early summer. Some popular sites include Lake Dunmore, the Moosalomoo National Recreation Area, and Abbey Pond.
