An Otter at Otter View Park - Photo by Ron Payne

On an evening in the first week of June I observed this River Otter from the end of the boardwalk at Otter View Park swimming on the far side of Otter Creek headed upstream. About fifteen minutes later it swam back downstream within 20 feet of the end of the boardwalk with it’s head popped up out of the water looking at me while chewing on a meal. I managed to snap this picture before it disappeared into a nearby channel into the marsh.

About two weeks later I had another sighting of Otters, this time four young ones who playfully swam across the river to momentarily harass a Beaver. When the Beaver swam away from them and their fun was over, they crossed the river again and went out of sight.
